SAIC Professional Training Center extends its training venture with Bangladesh Government and different national and international partner organizations & successfully completed the flagship programme named “Skilling Youths through Partnership (SYP)” sponsored by BRAC SDP and contributed tremendously to ensure decent employment in the domestic and overseas labor market.

Besides we worked in partnership with Palladium International (Bangladesh) and have a successful track record of completing the training of 1500 no. of trainees and their integration in the gainful job employment under Sudokkho “Skills and Employment Programme in Bangladesh”.

Until now, the programme has successfully participated in the skills development of the informal sector. However, now it intends to step into formal skills development sectors through pursuing sustainable business models. In order to achieve such goals. BRAC SDP is seeking to test various tailor-made training modules, developed based on inputs taken from various stakeholders, through establishing a partnership with public and private training service providers.

 Sudokkho, a DFID and SDC funded programme, formerly known as Skills and Employment programme in Bangladesh, stimulates the private sector to deliver vocational skills training sustainably and at scale. This 5- year programme with a total budget of €20.9 million is implemented by Palladium international Limited, in consortium with Swisscontact and the British Council. The programme adheres to the TVET reform agenda of Bangladesh in coordination with the Ministry of Education. Its focus is on the readymade garments and the construction sectors, to establish integrated, market-driven, skills training models that incentives higher productivity, efficiency and investment among trainees, private training providers, and employers. The programme's target is that 100,000 poor people, including women and disadvantaged populations, will earn increased income in skilled or semi-skilled jobs after successful completion of training. promoting gender equality and inclusion of disadvantaged people from a poor and marginalized group is stimulated across all inter orientations.

 The education sector has made significant progress in expanding educational opportunities at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. At the primary level, the gross enrollment rate has reached l0l percent. Despite remarkable expansion in access and high gross enrolment rates however, very few of the young out of school people have marketable skills that will help them acquire decent employment or start their own businesses. To address the issue ROSC-ll has decided to scale up one of its pilots

 

interventions are known as Pre Vocational Training program in 90 upazilas of ROSC- I and will aim to provide training on market responsive trades to 25,000 out of school children. To scale up the Pre Vocational Training (PVT) program ROSCU will engage Training Providers (TP) who will be shortlisted by the Specialized Agency (SA) based on field presence, capacity and other agreed qualifications. The TPs will be enlisted and deployed by the project in consultation with the SA to support the implementation of the scaled-up PVT program.
